Prague: Ideal Digital Nomad Hub in the Heart of Europe

I never thought Prague will amaze me as much as it did. This is the story of how I fell in love… with Prague.

I arrived from the cold winter in Argentina to the warm and sunny European summer. During my first week, the people at Locus Coworking received me with arms wide open. I took advantage of the coworking visa, which is an arrangement between coworking spaces all over the world. The people at Locus was very welcoming and helpful, from making my stay comfortable to tips of where to go for lunch or grocery shopping around the area.

The following week a went to visit another coworking space, K10. Until now, this was the most amazing working place I’ve even been. Besides having an astonishing neo-baroque building from the early 20th century, it has a beautiful garden where people can work during the summer. You can have your own desk under a tree with strong wifi and even power sockets all over the park. People come from different countries to enjoy their working hours here.

Other times I just enjoyed working from home. I arranged a working desk where I can spend hours working on my science editing projects. I even rearranged the furniture and put the dinning table to enjoy the view of Prague without moving from my apartment.

Also, when I started connecting with other digital nomads, I was suggested many other working places. This is how I landed at Cafedu. This is a coffee house in the center of the city where students and digital nomads spend their days (and nights). The place is actually open 24/7, and during the day you can enjoy tasty drinks and foods. The atmosphere inspires you and invites you to focus on your work.

While finding a place to work and a good wifi connection were not always as successful as I expected, I realized that I was more productive than many other times back home. I was working less hours but producing more content. I not only managed my duties but also added value to my company. Meeting people and having a relaxing work environment opened my mind. I was able to give my best at the time; however, I still believe there is room for improvement.

But not everything was about work in Prague. During my free time, I enjoyed meeting with people and practicing Acroyoga in Vysehrad, an amazing park with a view to all Prague. And as I always say, amazing things happen when you’re connected with your inner self.

I also engaged in some activities organized by Internations. For those who don’t know the organization, it is a must to meet very interesting and open-minded expats from all over the world who live in the same city. I went to a networking event in the Hilton and to a healthy-veggie picnic organized by Internations where I met the most diverse and amazing people.

In my free time, I met with friends, walked around the city, took some yoga classes, tried some traditional Czech foods (even tried to cook some of those foods myself), had lots of Czech beer, got to know the city and the crazy people living here, watched sunsets and moonlights, the art and architecture (and some secret places around) of Prague, and even learned some words in Czech. I enjoyed how people live around here. I met people from different places and learned from their culture. I was amazed at how local people enjoy their lives here, hanging around with their kids and friends. So finally, fell in love… with Prague.
